Requests and feasibility
Sending a request starts a review. It is not an acceptance, price, production commitment, or delivery promise. Prairie Forge 3D may decline work that cannot be completed responsibly with the available information, process, or materials.
Estimates and final quotes
An initial estimate is a non-binding price range based on the information available before measurement and design. It helps you decide whether to continue, but it is not the final price. For custom work, the final quote is prepared after design and preparation for printing, when the actual design time and print cost are known. Only the current final quote can be accepted, and a revised quote replaces earlier versions.
Design charges before work begins
Any charge for measurement or design, and the cancellation terms that apply if you decline the final print quote, are stated in the estimate and agreed before that work begins. Review those terms before accepting; ask for clarification if they are unclear. The final production quote requires a separate approval.
Physical parts and measurement
For reverse engineering, Prairie Forge 3D first uses identifying details to check whether a usable model already exists. When one does not, the original physical part normally must be dropped off in Winnipeg for measurement before custom design can begin. If the original is unavailable, feasibility depends on the references and mating parts available.
Design review and production
When a design preview needs approval, approval applies only to the version shown. Requested changes may affect price or timing. Production begins only after the required quote and design decisions are complete.
Payments
Payments are handled offline in Canadian dollars and recorded against the project. The website does not collect card information. Any deposit, balance, refund, or adjustment will be shown in the private project record.
Pickup
Public fulfillment is limited to Winnipeg pickup. The exact pickup location and eligible appointment windows are shared privately after confirmation. Shipping and digital-download fulfillment are not offered.
Customer-supplied designs
You must have permission to provide and reproduce submitted designs, files, marks, and reference material. You are responsible for explaining the intended environment and safety relevance. A printed component is not certified for an engineering, medical, protective, transportation, weapons, or other safety-critical use unless that conclusion is separately supported in writing by an appropriately qualified party.
Design ownership and licensing
Unless a separate written licence states otherwise, CAD models, design files, measurement data, and production-ready files created by Prairie Forge 3D remain its intellectual property. The purchase of a physical part does not include delivery, ownership, or reuse rights for those files.
Cancellation and records
Cancellation is handled under the terms agreed before design begins and, where applicable, the accepted production quote. Those terms explain charges for completed work or committed materials. Ending access to a project does not remove payment or other records that must be retained.
