Reverse engineering

This is useful when the original part is damaged, discontinued, or unavailable, but you still have enough of the part—or what it fits—to measure its important geometry.

The original part, even if it is cracked or worn and photos from several angles with a ruler for scale.

Custom CAD and product development

This is useful when the part you need does not exist yet: you have a problem, a rough sketch, or hardware that needs to fit together, but not a finished model.

A description or sketch of what the part must do and photos and dimensions of the available space.

Prototyping and 3D printing

This is useful when you already have a printable model, need a physical prototype to learn from, or want a small run of practical parts after the design is settled.

Start with

STL, STEP/STP, OBJ, or 3MF file if you have one and overall size, quantity, and how the part will be used.
